Samantha Ruth Prabhu and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore on Monday morning, ending months of quiet speculation around their relationship. The wedding, held at the serene Ling Bhairavi Temple inside the ashram, was attended by just 30 close family members and friends.

A traditional look of the couple that broke the internet

Samantha’s wedding pictures, which she later shared on Instagram, instantly captured attention for her strikingly traditional ensemble. The actor opted for a deep red pure Katan silk saree, a signature Arpita Mehta Banarasi weave rooted in South Indian bridal heritage.

Her saree had a beautifully embellished pallu with thick, temple-inspired embroidery, a big gold zari border with symmetrical flower motifs, and delicate buttas woven throughout the body to add elegance without dominating the rest of the outfit.

Samantha accessorised the saree with a matching red silk blouse that complimented the saree's zari design with its elaborate gold embroidery. The traditional look was enhanced by the elbow-length sleeves and high collar

She completed the look with classic South Indian temple jewellery with a bold gold choker with sculpted motifs, a layered necklace forming a grand bridal set, heavy gold bangles stacked across both wrists, statement rings, including a standout large square-cut stone that has sparked conversations online.

Her hair was neatly tied in a bun adorned with white flowers which acted like a timeless contrast to the richness of her saree and jewellery.

Raj wore a white kurta-pyjama and a textured beige Nehru jacket to maintain an elegant yet understated appearance. Samantha's extremely traditional look was well-balanced by his subtle tone and simple silhouette.

Inside the ceremony

According to various sources, the wedding took place early in the morning at the Ling Bhairavi Temple. The ceremony was kept deliberately low-key, in alignment with the spiritual setting of the ashram. Only about 30 guests were present during the rituals.

Moments after the ceremony, Samantha shared the first photographs from the wedding, showcasing the couple exchanging rings, performing rituals, and smiling warmly at each other.

Their journey from colleagues to partners

Though rumours of Samantha and Raj’s closeness circulated throughout 2024, the two have known each other since their work on The Family Man 2 (2021), which marked Samantha’s digital debut. Raj, one half of the hit duo Raj & DK, co-directed the series.

Their bond strengthened over the years through multiple collaborations like Citadel: Honey Bunny (2024) and Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom (upcoming on Netflix).
