Nearly three years after the release of Projapati, the much-anticipated Projapati 2 is set to arrive in theatres this Christmas. Dev’s fans have been eagerly waiting for the sequel as the first film performed well at the box office. Dev reportedly took considerable time before agreeing to make Projapati 2. After several rounds of discussion with the producer and director, he finally decided that, regardless of challenges, he would gift the film to his audience and said," I will prove that Bengali cinema can reach a hundred even with one show."
like the first film, Mithun Chakraborty will once again share the screen with Dev. However, the struggles surrounding theatre availability remain unchanged. During the release of Projapati, the makers faced difficulties in securing cinema halls, including government-run venues like Nandan. The same issue is expected this time as well. With Mitin Masi and Laho Gouranger Naam Re also releasing on Christmas, the number of screens allotted to Projapati 2 could be limited.

Dev is ready for the challenge
Despite these challenges, Dev remains confident about the film’s success. Addressing the issue ahead of the release, he stated that reusing the Projapati name was not an easy decision and that he fully understands the responsibility attached to it. He urged audiences to ignore discussions about the number of halls or shows and instead focus on watching the film. Even if there is only one show available, he appeals to viewers to bring their entire family to the theatre. He added that Bengali cinema has the potential to achieve remarkable success even with minimal screenings.

Dev further emphasised that he will continue to dream and fight for cinema as long as he believes in his work. Expressing strong faith in Projapati 2, he said that confidence is sometimes necessary. While encouraging audiences to watch all the films releasing during the festive period, he concluded with a heartfelt note that viewers may watch everything, but if they choose to love one film, let it be Projapati.
