Manchester United’s Kit Margetson signing has been officially confirmed, with the Premier League club completing the arrival of one of Wales’ brightest young goalkeepers. United reached a compensation agreement with Swansea City after the teenager’s contract expired, making him the club’s fourth senior addition of the summer transfer window. While the goalkeeper’s arrival strengthens the future of United’s squad, attention is also shifting towards midfield, where Roma star Manu Kone has emerged as a major target.

Margetson enjoyed a productive loan spell with Connah's Quay Nomads last season, keeping 10 clean sheets in 34 appearances and helping the Welsh club secure qualification for European competition. (X)

Manchester United complete Kit Margetson signing

Manchester United’s Kit Margetson signing sees the 19-year-old goalkeeper arrive at Old Trafford after progressing through Swansea City’s academy since the under-15 level.

Margetson enjoyed a productive loan spell with Connah’s Quay Nomads last season, keeping 10 clean sheets in 34 appearances and helping the Welsh club secure qualification for European competition. He also earned his first appearance for the Wales Under-21 side earlier this year.

Manchester United described the youngster as an exciting talent, while Swansea wished him success after agreeing to a compensation package for his development. The move also reunites Margetson with fellow Welsh goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who joined United earlier this summer.

Midfield remains a priority for United

While Manchester United’s Kit Margetson signing adds depth between the posts, United continue to focus on reinforcing midfield ahead of the new campaign.

Reports in Italy suggest the club has already reached an agreement in principle on personal terms with Roma midfielder Manu Kone. The France international impressed during the World Cup and is viewed as another player capable of strengthening Michael Carrick’s evolving squad.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing an offer worth close to €50 million, although Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli are also monitoring the midfielder.

Bigger transfer plans continue at Old Trafford

The Manchester United Kit Margetson signing is only one part of a busy recruitment drive that has already brought in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.

United are also continuing to monitor Real Madrid midfielders Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, while Brighton’s Carlos Baleba remains another option under consideration.

With pre-season already underway, the club appears determined to complete further additions before the Premier League campaign begins. Strengthening midfield remains the priority, but United’s recruitment strategy also reflects a commitment to investing in young talent capable of contributing over the long term.
