Cristiano Ronaldo is set to add another milestone to his career away from football by taking on an executive producer role and making an on-screen appearance in a new scripted television series titled Day 1s.

The Portugal captain will be involved both behind and in front of the camera in what will be his first reported acting role in a scripted production outside commercials and video games. The project comes as Ronaldo continues to play for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr and lead the Portugal national team.

What is Day 1s about?

The series tells the story of fictional football agent Stanley Dalton, played by acclaimed actor Damian Lewis, known for his roles in Homeland, Billions and Band of Brothers.

Rather than focusing on footballers themselves, Day 1s explores the world surrounding an elite football agent and offers a fictional look at the personalities, negotiations and business behind British football. Former Arsenal and France striker Thierry Henry is also expected to appear in the series.

Filming underway with star-studded cast

According to The Sun, production has already begun at Barnet FC’s Hive Stadium in north-west London. Henry has reportedly been seen at the filming location, while Ronaldo is expected to feature in the series in addition to serving as one of its executive producers.

Darren Dein’s idea brings football and television together

The concept for Day 1s was created by football agent Darren Dein, who also represents Thierry Henry. Dein is serving as one of the executive producers, with the story built around the fictional life of a top football agent instead of real players.

The combination of leading football personalities and established names from the entertainment industry has already generated attention during production.

Ronaldo’s film studio continues to grow

The series is being produced through UR•Marv, the independent film studio Ronaldo launched alongside Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn in April 2025.

When the company was introduced, the pair revealed they had already financed and produced two action films, while a third project was in development.

Speaking at the launch, Ronaldo said, “This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business.”

Ronaldo balances football and entertainment

Unlike many former footballers who move into television after retirement, Ronaldo is taking on this project while remaining an active player.

His current contract with Al-Nassr runs until 2027, allowing him to continue competing at the highest level while developing projects outside football.

With filming already in progress, Day 1s marks another step in Ronaldo’s growing business portfolio. By combining executive production duties with an acting appearance, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is entering scripted television in a role unlike any he has taken before.
