A 22-year-old woman from Sikkim was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend after a dispute at their rented home in Bengaluru's Doddakanahalli area. Police said the accused has been arrested and an investigation is underway.
The victim, identified as Ati Hangma Subba, worked as a receptionist at a salon in Bengaluru. The accused, Purba Lepcha, a native of Darjeeling, was employed as a waiter at a hotel.
According to police, the couple had been in a relationship and had recently moved to Bengaluru, where they were living together.

As per Hindustan Times report, investigators said the couple had shifted to the city around a month ago and were staying in a rented accommodation in Doddakanahalli under the jurisdiction of Bellandur police station.

The incident came to light on Sunday morning, following which police launched an investigation and took the accused into custody.
Argument allegedly triggered the incident
According to preliminary findings, an argument broke out between the couple after the accused allegedly suspected the woman of being involved with another person. Police said the dispute escalated and turned violent.

As per Hindustan Times quoted in their report that authorities challenge that the accused attacked the woman with a kitchen knife, leading to her death.
