Woman shot dead in Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh; police probe link to husband’s murder 2022

Investigators disclosed that Rachna Yadav, the woman who was shot, was a prime witness in her husband’s murder case.

A woman was murdered in Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh area by getting shot on Friday morning. The incident happened around 11 am. The victim has been identified as Rachna Yadav.

The victim’s husband was also murdered earlier

According to India Today, the Delhi Police mentioned Rachna Yadav’s husband was murdered by criminals three years ago, in 2023. He was also shot dead. Rachna Yadav was the key witness who approached the Supreme Court seeking justice for her husband. Some of the accused in her husband’s murder are still on the run. The police suspect the killers to be the same in the killing of Rachna Yadav.

Witness wiped out

The investigators disclosed that Rachna Yadav was a prime witness in her husband’s murder case. The initial suspicion leans towards similar criminals, who were involved in her murder as well. However, Delhi Police mentioned that the case is being investigated closely, covering and examining all possible angles and has not reached a constructive conclusion as of now

A case has been registered under the appropriate sections of the law at the Shalimar Bagh police station. There are certain teams that have been created to identify the suspects. The police authorities are closely monitoring the CCTV footage from the area and questioning people linked to both cases.

Her two daughters survive Rachna Yadav. Her elder daughter is married, while the younger one is currently studying in school.
