A horrific accident took place in the early hours of Monday in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district, when a cooking gas cylinder exploded inside a house, triggering a massive fire. The incident occurred around 3 AM, according to police sources. Six people have been reported dead, while one person is battling for life in hospital.

The fire broke out in a Telangana village under the Dhanduri panchayat. Police officials said their preliminary assessment points to a short circuit as the possible cause. Sparks from the electrical fire are believed to have fallen on a cooking gas cylinder kept inside the house. Moments later, the cylinder exploded with a loud bang.
Casualties and damage
The impact of the explosion was devastating. The roof of the house was blown apart, and within minutes, the entire structure was engulfed in flames. There was little time for anyone inside to escape.

Six people lost their lives in the incident. The deceased have been identified as Lokendra Singh, Kabita Devi, Sarika, Kritika, Tripti Devi and Naresh Kumar. One injured person was rescued and rushed to the hospital, where their condition is reported to be critical.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to establish the exact sequence of events that led to the tragedy.
