Indian Railways has recently announced that passengers will be shifted from the UTS mobile app for online train ticket booking to a new platform called RailOne. Until now, only unreserved train tickets and seasonal passes could be booked through UTS. However, the new RailOne will allow booking of both unreserved and reserved tickets. Additionally, monthly tickets for local trains can also be booked through this app.
Features of RailOne
RailOne aims to make passenger interaction with the railway system simpler and smoother. The app has a clean, user-friendly interface and is available on both the Android Play Store and the iOS App Store.
It allows users to book unreserved UTS tickets using the R-Wallet, with a 3% discount on such bookings.
RailOne also provides live train tracking and a grievance redressal option for passengers to register complaints. To add to convenience, the app includes services such as e-catering, porter booking and last-mile taxi options.
Reserved ticket bookings will continue to be handled through IRCTC. RailOne is an IRCTC-authorised app, similar to other partner platforms. It supports single sign-on through mPIN or biometric authentication, and existing RailConnect and UTS login credentials can be used. By combining several railway services in one place, RailOne helps save storage space on users’ devices.

The app will also include Grievance Redressal facilities. If you have any complaints regarding railway matters, you can submit them through this app as well.
In other words, previously, you had to rely on multiple apps for various railway-related tasks. But now that is no longer necessary. From booking train tickets to cab booking, all facilities will be available in one app through RailOne. This will also reduce pressure on your phone's storage.
“Reserved tickets will continue to be offered on IRCTC. The RailOne app has also been authorised by IRCTC, just like many other commercial apps that have partnered with IRCTC,” the ministry said in an earlier press release.

How to transfer from UTS to RailOne?
If you already have an account on apps like UTS or RailConnect, you can log in using that data. You can easily log in to the app through a single M-Pin or biometrics.
1. Open the UTS app on your phone and open the 'Transfer Ticket' link.
2. Select the seasonal pass you want to transfer - monthly, quarterly or annual.
3. After this, an option will appear on your phone screen. Clicking on that option will start connecting your pass with the RailOne app.
4. Then log in to the RailOne app using your M-Pin.
5. After this, whatever money was in your R-Wallet in the UTS app will be transferred to the RailOne app.
The user interface of the RailOne app is much simpler compared to other partner apps of the railways. The app can be installed on both Android and iOS.
