A horrific boiler explosion in Karnataka, on Wednesday, claimed the lives of several workers. The incident took place in a sugar factory in Morakumbi village, Belagavi and left several others seriously injured. According to ANI, the death toll stood at five by Wednesday evening, with several others sustaining severe burns.
According to media sources, three people died after being burned in the fire caused by the boiler accident. Those who were injured also suffered severe burns due to the fire. According to local media sources, the accident occurred around noon on Wednesday during repair work. Repair work was being carried out on the boiler wall. At that time, an explosion occurred, causing hot liquid from inside to splash onto the workers present there.

Belagavi SP K Ramrajan said that eight people were splashed with hot liquid in the incident. A case has been filed at the local police station. Senior police officials have visited the scene to assess the situation. Police are investigating to determine what caused this accident. According to a national media source, work at the factory has been temporarily suspended following this incident.
