A picnic that turned into disaster. Six individuals died on their way to a picnic as the car fell into a gorge, approximately 400 feet deep. The incident occurred in the Tamhini Ghat area of Raigad district in Maharashtra. A Police report stated that on Thursday, the accident took place, resulting in the death of all the passengers in the vehicle.
It was initially learned that the accident occurred on Tuesday morning. However, the police became aware of the accident on Thursday morning. A police officer from the area stated that, upon learning about this, a search was conducted. The dense forest and gorge caused problems in the search. Later, the car was found with the help of a drone camera.

According to police sources, the deceased individuals were between the ages of 18 to 22. They had left from Pune in a Mahindra Thar on Monday night to go for a picnic.
Incidentally, Tamhini Ghat is located on the hilly road connecting Raigad and Pune districts. Many people visit there for picnics because of its scenic beauty.
A police officer said that the families of the youths had been unable to contact them since Tuesday morning. They contacted the police on Thursday morning. Only then did police begin the investigation. The investigation found their mobile phone's last location in the Tamhini Ghat area. After this, police from Mangaon police station started searching in that area.

According to PTI sources, after seeing a broken safety railing at a bend in the mountain road, police began searching there. A drone was also used for this work. This led to spotting the SUV stuck in a tree in the gorge in that valley.
