Zubeen Garg would have turned 53 today. The Assamese singer passed away on September 19, 2025, leaving the nation, especially Assam, in deep mourning. This year marks the first time the state is commemorating Zubeen's birthday in his absence, following his death in Singapore in August.
For the last decade, fans had made it a cherished ritual to gather at Zubeen Garg's Kahillipara residence at midnight, celebrating his birthday with songs, cheers, and heartfelt admiration. The night was always a festival filled with warmth, energy, and the artist's affectionate presence. This year, however, the celebrations are tinged with sorrow.
