A 77-foot-high bronze statue of Lord Ram was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday in Partagali, Goa, to celebrate the 550th anniversary of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math. The statue is also the highest one of Lord Ram in the world.
Earlier in the day, before landing in Goa, the Prime Minister was in Udupi, Karnataka. There, he offered prayers at the historic Sri Krishna Matha, a revered centre of the Dvaita Vedanta tradition established more than 800 years ago by Sri Madhvacharya.
PM Modi also joined the Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana, a massive community recitation involving nearly 100,000 people, including students, monks, scholars and devotees who chanted the Srimad Bhagavad Gita together.

The Indian PM also inaugurated the newly developed Ramayana Theme Park Garden on the premises. He also released a special postal stamp and a commemorative coin dedicated to the Math’s legacy.
In Udupi, Modi inaugurated the Suvarna Teertha Mantapa and dedicated the Kanaka Kavacha for the Kanakana Kindi, the small window believed to be the sacred spot where saint Kanakadasa was granted darshan of Bhagwan Krishna after being denied entry inside the temple centuries ago.
Notably, the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, considered the first Gowd Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnava Math, founded in the 13th century, holds a special place in the Dvaita order.
