India has issued a fresh travel advisory for Iran, asking its citizens to avoid travelling to the country and urging those already there to leave using available transport options as regional tensions continue to rise.
In a notice released on Monday, the Embassy of India in Tehran reiterated its earlier guidance amid the evolving security situation in the region.
“In view of the latest developments in the region, the Embassy reiterates its earlier advice to all Indian Nationals to avoid any travel to Iran."

Advisory comes amid growing regional tensions
The renewed warning follows a fresh escalation in hostilities between Iran and Israel, which has prompted several countries to review travel guidance for their citizens.
India has repeatedly advised its nationals in the region to remain cautious, closely monitor official updates and stay in contact with Indian diplomatic missions for assistance and information.

The government has been monitoring developments in West Asia since tensions intensified earlier this year following US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28.
Large-scale evacuation efforts
India had previously issued multiple advisories urging citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Iran and leave the country if possible.
According to official figures, more than 1,800 Indian nationals have been evacuated from Iran since the conflict began.
The Ministry of External Affairs said in April that around 6.49 lakh passengers had returned to India from West Asia since February 28. The ministry also stated that it remains focused on the safety, security and welfare of the large Indian community living across the region.
Iran-Israel conflict intensifies
The latest advisory comes as tensions sharply escalated on Monday after Iran launched missile attacks on Israeli targets in response to Israel's strike on Beirut's southern suburbs.
Israel later carried out retaliatory strikes, targeting multiple locations in Iran. It also reported intercepting a missile launched from Yemen and said it struck a petrochemical facility in Iran's Mashahr, causing partial damage.
Amid the exchanges, US President Donald Trump said ongoing strikes would not derail his administration's peace efforts with Tehran and remarked that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “doesn’t call the shots."
