The inaugural auction of the Telangana T20 League took place on Sunday. In the marquee event, Tilak Varma emerged as the highest-valued player after Medak Falcons bid for him for Rs. 33 lakh.
With a player pool comprising over 1,300 HCA-registered cricketers, the franchises of Telangana’s premier T20 league built their squads by enriching themselves with some of the finest cricketing talent of the state, drawn from several categories. The auction joined international stars, domestic performers, and district cricketers to showcase their talents on the big stage.

Siraj emerges as the star player for TG
Mohammed Siraj also remained one of the big names in the auction table, as the Warangal Warriors included him in the team for Rs. 14 lakh. On the other hand, CV Milind became the most expensive uncapped player with an auction price of Rs. 17 lakh bid by Anvita Khammam Aces.
Other signings of the TG20 auction
The auction revealed other notable signings for the tournament from the iconic category, including Ravi Kiran and Rohit Rayudu for Palamuru Strikers, T. Raviteja along with Tilak Varma for Medak Falcons, Tanay Thyagarajan for Pranava Ranga Reddy Risers, Rahul Buddhi for Anurag Nalgonda Knights, and Tanmay Agarwal for Karimnagar Diamonds.

The Telangana T20 League (TG20), approved by the BCCI, runs from June 20 to July 11, 2026. Organised by the Hyderabad Cricket Association, it features eight franchise teams representing regions across Telangana. The franchises, valued at over ₹46 crore, include major owners like Ushodaya Enterprises (Hyderabad) and Anvita Group (Khammam). Former TNPL CEO Prasanna Kannan leads the league operations. A mega player auction took place on June 7, 2026, at Ramoji Film City, featuring top local stars like Mohammed Siraj and Tilak Varma. The tournament features 32 matches, concluding with the grand final at Uppal Stadium, Hyderabad.
