The performance of various ministries, major decisions taken in recent months and the outcomes of government policies are expected to be reviewed. Ministers may also discuss priorities for the coming months and identify areas requiring course correction.
Ahead of the meeting, ministries were asked to submit details to the Cabinet Secretariat regarding reform measures implemented over the past two years.
All ministries have also reportedly provided a list of successful schemes carried out during the Modi government’s 12 years in office.
Focus on reforms and governance
The meeting is also expected to examine how government schemes and programmes can be implemented more effectively for maximum public benefit.
According to PTI, discussions may focus on reforms across sectors aimed at improving governance and public services.
PM Modi had earlier outlined reform priorities for the next decade, saying the government’s “Reform Express” had delivered systemic transformation and significantly benefited ordinary citizens.
Middle East crisis, economy likely to be discussed
The ongoing conflict in West Asia, especially the Iran war and its economic impact, is also expected to figure prominently in the discussions.
Sources said the Prime Minister may review the possible effects on India’s energy supplies, fuel prices and trade flows. Ministries and departments could also receive directions on measures to minimise inconvenience for citizens.
