To mark the actor’s birthday, they also released a striking first glimpse video from the film, giving fans an intense preview of its scale and tone. The announcement has created strong excitement among audiences, who are eager to see the collaboration between the two powerhouse talents.

As per NDTV reports, the glimpse of Dragon reveals an intense and dark narrative, showing Jr NTR in a powerful role. In the film, he plays Dragon, the assassin-in-chief of the Afghan Trading Company, which is one of the key entities involved in a global opium war. The teaser hints at a high-stakes action drama with a gritty and larger-than-life storyline.

What does Dragon glimpse show

The glimpse video of Dragon opens with a voice-over explaining that the British originally came to India for the opium poppy, which is used to produce heroin. It further describes how they controlled key regions where the banned drug was cultivated, including Afghanistan and areas spread across Thailand, Laos, and Burma.

After the British left, the trade was taken over by other powerful entities, leading to a major opium war between two groups — the Afghan Trading Company and the Golden Triangle. The video then introduces the villains associated with the Afghan Trading Company, setting up the central conflict of the story.

As per NDTV reports, among the key characters introduced is Jr NTR, who plays Luger, the Assassin-in-Chief of the Afghan Trading Company, also referred to as Dragon. His character is shown in a fierce and intense avatar, and he delivers a powerful dialogue: "When I shut my eyes to sleep, I don't see the faces of the people I have killed.

I only see the faces of the enemies remaining. Don't even by mistake appear in my dreams!" The glimpse also reveals Anil Kapoor as Raghuveer Rathod, the Chief of the Narcotics Bureau, and Biju Menon as Jaleel Rahman, the Afghanistan Logistics Head.

When is Dragon releasing

The film was initially scheduled to release on June 25 this year. However, the makers have now postponed its release to June 11 next year, extending the wait for fans eagerly anticipating the project. The announcement has added to the growing buzz around the film, which has already generated significant attention since its inception.

A few days ago, Jr NTR also shared a picture of himself on Instagram, which delighted his fans. In the image, the actor was seen flaunting his chiselled back and well-built biceps during a gym session. Captioning the post, he wrote, “Built. Not bought. #NTRNeel @kumarmannava @ntrneelfilm.” The film continues to attract strong interest from fans and film enthusiasts ever since it was officially announced.

Jr NTR joined the sets of the film on April 22 last year, marking the beginning of his collaboration with director Prashanth Neel for this much-anticipated project. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with NTR Arts, and is expected to be a grand cinematic spectacle.

It is jointly produced by Kalyan Ram Nandamuri, Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili, and Hari Krishna Kosaraju, bringing together a strong production team behind the ambitious venture.
