India launched a strong diplomatic attack on Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council, accusing Islamabad of continuing to sponsor cross-border terrorism while violating the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and peaceful coexistence.
Speaking during a UNSC Open Debate, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Harish Parvathaneni, said Pakistan’s long-standing policy of using terrorism against India exposed the contradiction between its rhetoric and actions on the international stage.
He stated that India had every right to defend itself against terror attacks originating from across the border and warned that Pakistan would have to accept the consequences of supporting terrorism.
India accuses Pakistan of long-running aggression
According to NDTV, addressing the Security Council, Parvathaneni said independent India had faced cross-border aggression from Pakistan since its earliest years after independence.
He accused Islamabad of pursuing what he described as a doctrine of “bleeding India by a thousand cuts” through sustained support for terrorism and extremist forces.
According to the Indian envoy, Pakistan had repeatedly violated international norms by waging wars, encouraging violent extremism, and continuing support for terror outfits targeting India.
He added that Pakistan must “credibly and irrevocably” end support for all forms of terrorism.

Pakistan raised Kashmir and Indus treaty issues
According to NDTV, India’s remarks came after Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar raised the issues of Jammu and Kashmir and the Indus Waters Treaty during the debate chaired by China under its presidency of the Security Council for May.
Dar referred to India’s decision to place the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance following the April 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians.
The attack had been claimed by The Resistance Front, widely regarded as a proxy linked to the Pakistan-based terror organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba.
