A 23-year-old man was shot dead in northeast Delhi’s Khajuri Khas area on Tuesday evening, police said, adding that a probe has been launched to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the killing.
The victim was identified as Raja Mevati, also known as Akki and Aakib.
According to Delhi Police, officers received information about a firing incident in the Khajuri Khas locality late in the evening. When police teams reached the spot, they found that the injured man had already been shifted to a hospital by a PCR van.

Victim declared dead at hospital
According to NDTV, police said doctors declared the victim dead upon arrival at the hospital. A case has been registered at Khajuri Khas police station under relevant sections of law, and investigators have begun examining all possible angles related to the murder.
Officials said forensic experts visited the scene shortly after the incident and collected evidence to assist the investigation.

Multiple police teams deployed
According to NDTV, Delhi Police stated that several teams have been formed to track down the accused involved in the killing.
Investigators are reportedly examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and speaking to residents to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the shooting.
Authorities have not yet disclosed whether the victim had any criminal background or whether the attack was linked to personal rivalry, gang activity, or another motive.
Police said further details would emerge as the investigation progresses.

Separate firing incident reported in Rohini
According to NDTV, in another incident earlier this week, a 21-year-old man was injured after an alleged accidental firing during a party in Delhi’s Rohini district.
The victim, identified as Raja, suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen after a firearm reportedly went off during a gathering at a private residence in Jain Nagar under the Begampur police station area.
Police said those present at the party fled immediately after the incident. The injured man was rushed to the hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.
