Nida Khan, whose name appears in one of the FIRs related to the sexual harassment and religious intimidation case in a TCS affiliate BPO in Nashik, will file for anticipatory bail in the sessions court shortly, according to her advocate Baba Sayyed.

“It’ll be done in a couple of days,” Sayyed said while speaking to Hindustan Times, adding that a plea will be drafted soon. Khan’s name has come up in the case after allegations were made against her about her involvement in the case. However, Khan’s family members vehemently deny the accusations against their relative.

The matter came to light after a 23-year-old employee filed a case against a senior employee of the company, Danish Shaikh, alleging sexual harassment and a romantic relationship based on the pretense of marriage. The Nashik police have registered several FIRs in the case, using sections from the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, which include charges of sexual harassment, coercion, and religious sentiment hurt.

Nida Khan’s name was mentioned in an FIR registered at the Devlali police station on March 26 concerning the religious harassment allegation.

Family counters ‘mastermind’ allegation

Police officials have described Khan as an alleged “mastermind” who attempted to suppress the complaint and shield the accused, according to ANI. Investigators have also cited the recovery of dozens of call records, emails, and chats, along with indications of financial transactions during the probe.

However, Khan’s family has rejected these allegations, maintaining that she neither held a senior position nor had any role in the alleged acts.

“She joined the BPO in December 2021 as a telecaller, not as an HR employee,” a family member said. Her father told Hindustan Times that she had been wrongly implicated, adding that she simply went to work and is now facing serious accusations without basis.

The family has also disputed police claims that Khan is absconding. They insist she is at home and that no police team has visited them so far. Her brother further alleged that her photograph has been misused on social media, falsely portraying her as an HR head of the firm. In a key development, the family has stated that Khan is pregnant, a claim expected to be cited in her anticipatory bail plea.

Corporate and legal scrutiny intensifies

The controversy has triggered scrutiny at the corporate level as well. Natarajan Chandrasekaran has ordered an internal inquiry, calling the allegations “gravely concerning and anguishing.”

In a statement, the company said it maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct and is cooperating fully with the investigation. Action has already been initiated against employees found to be involved, it added.

So far, around eight individuals have reportedly been arrested in connection with the case, even as investigations continue to examine the extent of alleged coercion, workplace misconduct, and possible organised elements.
