Santragachi special train announced: Check the route, stops and passenger facilities

Southern Railway announces special trains between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Santragachi to manage the post-Holi passenger rush. Check dates, timings and stoppages.

With Holi ending, migrant workers are rushing to return from home to their workplaces. There is no room to spare on trains. Railways has taken special initiative to handle this additional pressure of passengers.

Southern Railway has decided to run special trains between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Santragachi. This decision has been taken by the railways for the convenience of workers returning to their workplaces after the festival. Railways has also announced that booking for this special train can be done online and offline.

Travel dates and timings

06081 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Santragachi Special train will run only two days, on 13 and 20 March. On 13 March, Friday at 2:15 PM, this train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram. Then via Coimbatore, Tirupur and Erode stations, the train will reach Salem. On 14 March, Saturday at 2:03 AM, this train will reach Salem station. After stopping there for two minutes, the train will depart again towards its destination at 2:05 AM. This special train will go via Coimbatore, Tirupur and Erode stations. Then on 15 March, Sunday at 2:15 PM, it will reach Santragachi.

Return train schedule from Santragachi

06082 Santragachi-Thiruvananthapuram Central train will return from Santragachi on 16 and 23 March. On Monday (16 March) at 2:20 PM, the train will depart from Santragachi. Via Kharagpur, Balasore and Bhubaneswar, it will reach Salem on Tuesday (17 March) at 9:27 PM.

Departing from Salem on Tuesday at 9:30 PM, the train will reach Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday (18 March) at 9:55 AM. Railway authorities believe that this special service will provide considerable convenience to long-distance passengers.
