At the start of the new year (2026), commercial LPG cylinder prices have risen. The revised rates for cooking gas used in commercial sectors came into effect from January 1, with each 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder seeing an increase of ₹111.

State-owned oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil and Hindustan Petroleum, announced the updated prices for commercial cooking gas in four major cities.

Recent price trends
Commercial LPG prices have fluctuated in recent months. In December 2025, the 19 kg cylinder price decreased by ₹10. In November, it fell by ₹5, while in October, it increased by ₹15.50. In September, prices dropped by ₹51.50, and in August, the decline was ₹33.50 per cylinder.

Despite these changes in commercial rates, domestic LPG prices for households have remained unchanged. The 14.2 kg domestic cooking gas cylinder was last revised in April 2025, and in Kolkata, the price has stayed at ₹879 since then.
