Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced special tourism bus services on eight routes to mark International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026. The initiative offers a full-day travel experience to several destinations around Pune at a concessional fare of ₹500 per passenger.
The move is aimed at encouraging women to step out and explore religious, historical and scenic locations in and around Pune while celebrating the occasion with friends and family.
Routes and travel details
According to officials, the buses will depart in the morning between 8:30 am and 9 am from major locations such as Pune Station, Swargate and Hadapsar Gadital. The buses will return by evening after completing the tours.

The routes will cover several well-known destinations- including Morgaon, Jejuri, Saswad, Narayanpur, Theur, Ramdara, the foothills of Sinhagad, Khadakwasla and Panshet dams, Tulapur, Ranjangaon, Lonavala, Bhuleshwar and Baneshwar.
Some routes focus on pilgrimage circuits, while others highlight scenic spots, heritage landmarks and spiritual destinations around Pune district.
PMPML officials said that the services have been designed keeping women passengers in mind, with convenient boarding points and a structured day-long itinerary. The fare has been fixed at ₹500 per passenger to keep the trips affordable and accessible.

As per a report of Hindustan Times, the initiative has already received a positive response from commuters. Snehal Shirodkar, a resident of Hadapsar, said the service would make outings easier. “It is a wonderful initiative for Women’s Day. Usually, we plan outings, but transport becomes expensive and complicated. A fixed bus tour at this rate makes it easy for us to travel together safely,” she said.
Officials have advised interested passengers to book early as the special Women’s Day services are expected to attract strong demand.
