A shocking incident has been reported from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, where around 170 sheep died under mysterious circumstances near the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal, triggering panic in the area. Following the incident, the administration moved swiftly into action, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered a high-level investigation.

Mysterious animal deaths after PM's visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal in Lucknow's Dubagga area last Sunday. The owner of the deceased sheep has alleged that stale and rotten food left over after the government event was dumped in the parking area. He claims the sheep consumed the waste, leading to mass deaths due to suspected food poisoning.

However, the police and a local NGO, Ashra The Helping Hands Trust, have stated that the possibility of deliberate poisoning cannot be ruled out. The NGO's founder, Charu Khar, described the incident as 'extremely serious' and called for a thorough probe.

Probe on

Taking note of the gravity of the situation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced compensation of ₹10,000 for each dead sheep. The carcasses have been sent for post-mortem examination, which will determine whether the deaths were accidental or the result of a deliberate act.
