Kharma Valley

This valley is located at the very end of Old Manali. Kharma Valley is not very popular among tourists. Many also call it Khirma. This hidden gem is located very close to Hidimba Temple. It's just 3.5 kilometers from Manali's Mall Road. Yet there are absolutely no tourist crowds. The Manalsu River flows alongside. And the entire valley is filled with apple orchards. You can reach Kharma Valley by walking 30-40 minutes from Old Manali.

Majach Village

This village's name is unknown to many. Yet this offbeat retreat lies within Manali itself. It's just 8 kilometers from Manali's Mall Road. It takes only 20 minutes by car from Old Manali. You can also walk there. There are a couple of homestay cottages and hostels for accommodation. This small settlement has grown up in Dhugan Valley, beside the Beas River. There's a beautiful waterfall in the forest.
Hallan Valley

Want to stay in a 100-year-old Himachali kothi? You can take a peek at Hallan Valley. There are several wooden kothis here. They are now used as hotels. You can also camp in this valley. Hallan is just 20 kilometers from Manali. Yet there are absolutely no crowds. You can come here to spend time close to nature and learn about Himachal's culture.
Phojal Valley

Phojal Valley comprises several small villages. This valley is located right between Manali and Kullu. It's 30-35 kilometers from both sides. That's why it escapes tourists' attention. Yet it's an ideal place for slow travel. There are also opportunities for hiking. You can visit Phojal to enjoy Himachal's beauty while avoiding crowds.

Kasheri Village

Kasheri is just 20 kilometers from Manali's Mall Road. About 15-20 families live there in total. Some distance from the village is the Pangan Nyingmapa Monastery. If you visit this village from Manali, keep the monastery on your list too. You can visit this village throughout the year except December-January.
