Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar awarded Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ₹50 lakh for his stellar performance in the Under-19 World Cup. The cheque was handed over at a ceremony held at the Sankalp auditorium of the Chief Minister’s official residence at Anne Marg in Patna.
While presenting the cheque, Nitish Kumar praised Vaibhav’s contribution to India’s triumph and described him as a rising star of Indian cricket. He expressed confidence that the young batter would continue to achieve new milestones in the future.

The event was attended by Vaibhav and his family members, along with Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh, and Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Under-19 World Cup Performance
Vaibhav emerged as one of the standout performers in the Under-19 World Cup. He scored 439 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 62.71. His highest score of 175 came against England in the final, where he played a decisive innings. During the tournament, he registered one century along with multiple half-centuries.
He finished as the second-highest run scorer in the Under-19 World Cup, just behind England’s Ben Mayes, thereby etching his name in junior World Cup records.

IPL Journey with Rajasthan Royals
Following the World Cup, Vaibhav initially planned to appear for his Class 10 board examinations. Although he took one paper, he chose to skip the remaining exams to join the pre-season camp of the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the Indian Premier League.
