The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed December 16 as the auction date. The event will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, ahead of the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League and the build-up for the IPL 2026 mini auction is escalating.
Over 1,300 players, including well-known international figures and a number of seasoned Indian personalities, have signed up for the auction. Fans may anticipate fierce competition for key players as several teams enter the bidding with significant purse amounts.

1,355 Players register for IPL 2026 auction
According to Cricbuzz, the registration list includes:
1,062 Indian players
293 overseas players
212 capped internationals
1,121 uncapped players
22 associate-nation players
Well-known Indian players such as Mayank Agarwal, Deepak Hooda, Prithvi Shaw, Umesh Yadav, Rahul Chahar and Ravi Bishnoi have entered the auction pool.

KKR enters the auction with the largest purse, while Mumbai Indians have the lowest remaining balance.

When and where will the auction be held?
The auction will be taking place on December 16, 2025 at Abu Dhabi, UAE. This will mark another international venue for the IPL mini auction, continuing the league’s trend of conducting overseas events.
Fans can see the IPL 2026 auction on TV telecast; Star Sports Network will broadcast the auction live across India. Fans can stream the event on the JioHotstar app and website. The coverage of the auction is expected to begin from the afternoon.
