KKR in trouble? Sunil Narine’s IPL 2026 arrival under massive doubt amid travel chaos

Middle East conflict disrupts travel plans, delaying key overseas players including Sunil Narine, raising concerns for KKR ahead of IPL.

With only a few days left to start the IPL, players from certain countries have not been able to join their teams because of the Middle East conflict, flights have been cancelled and the arrival in India has become complicated. Sunil Narine is one of them along with other Windies players and South African players, has yet to join. Amid bowling concerns for KKR, Sunil Narine’s late arrival could impact their planning.

This season KKR will go with three important Windies members to their set-up, other than Narine, Rovman Powell and Andre Russell are yet to join.

So far, Indian players and a few management staff have joined the team, head coach, Abhishek Naiyar along with support staff Shane Watson and mentor Dwayne Bravo who joined the team from Amsterdam, have started practising at Eden Gardens.

When will the other foreign players arrive?

KKR has signed three Kiwi players for this season, Finn Allen, Rachin Ravindra and Tim Seifert other than that, former New Zealand bowler Tim Southee will also join the team as a bowling coach on Thursday as reported by Revzsport Varun Chakraavarthy will also join the team on the same day. Cameron Green will join the team on March 20.

It is expected that the Windies players will join the team by March 24. Though, their joining in the team is uncertain because of the Middle East war tensions. South Africa and West Indies were the last teams to reach their home after the World Cup for the same reason.

KKR has started their practice already, coach Abhishek introduced the new joiners and support staff. Ajinkya Rahane along with Manish Pandey and Umran Malik, have started their practice.
