A press conference featuring Mohsin Naqvi caused an online buzz after a journalist praised him for “bringing the ICC to its knees”, a remark that drew visible reactions from those seated beside him.
The clip, which is now all over social media, shows the journalist applauding Naqvi for allegedly bringing the International Cricket Council around his little finger in arranging the timing of the India vs. Pakistan T20 World Cup match. As the claim is advanced, the camera shifts to a man sitting beside Naqvi who appears to struggle to contain his smile, while Naqvi keeps his head down at the time.
Viral moment at press meet
The man seen reacting in the video has been identified as Ahsan Tahir, owner of Multan Sultans and Group CEO of Walee Group. That short interaction and response by him, particularly, has created a buzz across various social platforms, with everyone commenting on the possible message being conveyed and how reactions unfolded live on stage.

The controversy comes amid discussions around Pakistan’s involvement in the ongoing T20 World Cup and their match against India, scheduled for February 15 in Colombo.
The reaction of the man sitting nearby shows how much it was torn apart by the ICC.

Naqvi’s remarks on Bangladesh
Addressing the media, Naqvi said the focus of recent discussions was not personal or political but centred on Bangladesh.
“We did not discuss anything apart from Bangladesh. Our only purpose was to get respect for Bangladesh and highlight the injustice done to them,” he said.
“And you saw that whatever demands Bangladesh made were accepted. That’s it. We had no personal interest in the meeting. Our task was purely related to Bangladesh. The government took its decision on that basis. When their demands were accepted and it was acknowledged that injustice was done to them, we decided to play”, he added further.
India enter as favourites
On the field, however, all attention will be focused on the high-stakes India-Pakistan encounter. India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will look to continue their winning momentum after having beaten Pakistan three times in the Asia Cup last September. For their part, Pakistan started their tournament with flying colors, winning both their matches thus far at the group stage.
