The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the schedule for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, with England and Wales set to host the expanded tournament from June 12 to July 5. Featuring 12 teams for the first time, the competition will include 33 matches across seven venues, marking the biggest edition of the event so far.
India has been placed in Group A alongside Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and the Netherlands. One of the most anticipated fixtures of the group stage will see India take on Pakistan in a high-profile clash expected to draw global attention.
Expanded format promises tougher competition
The 2026 tournament will be the first Women’s T20 World Cup to feature 12 teams, reflecting the continued growth of the women’s game. Teams have been divided into two groups of six, with the top two sides from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

Hosts England will launch the tournament against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston on June 12. Other matches will be staged at some of the country’s most iconic cricket venues, including Lord’s, The Oval, Old Trafford, Headingley, Hampshire Bowl and Bristol County Ground.

The knockout stage will culminate with the final at Lord’s on July 5, giving the champions a chance to lift the trophy at one of cricket’s most historic grounds.
India target maiden T20 World Cup crown
India will head into the tournament hoping to end their wait for a Women’s T20 World Cup title. While the team has reached major ICC finals in recent years, the trophy has remained elusive.
