Popular content creator IShowSpeed has scored a viral hit ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with the release of his new track, "World Cup (Champions)", a football-themed anthem that has quickly become a sensation across social media platforms.
Released just days before the tournament kicks off across the United States, Canada and Mexico, the song has generated massive engagement online, with many football fans arguing that it is more fitting as the World Cup anthem than FIFA's officially selected track.
Fans call for FIFA to make it the official anthem
The song's teaser has exploded on social media, crossing more than 36 million views on X and attracting hundreds of thousands of likes within hours. Football supporters flooded the comments section with praise, highlighting the track's energetic beat, catchy chorus and global football appeal.
Many fans openly compared the song to FIFA's official World Cup 2026 anthem, Dai Dai, performed by Shakira and Burna Boy.
Several users described Speed's song as "better than the official anthem", while others launched online campaigns urging FIFA to adopt it as the tournament's official soundtrack.
One fan wrote that the track felt more authentic to football culture, while another praised its ability to unite supporters from different nations by referencing many of the 48 participating countries.
FIFA responds to Speed's request
The growing popularity of the song even drew a response from FIFA itself.
After IShowSpeed publicly suggested that "World Cup (Champions)" should become the official anthem of the tournament, FIFA's official social media account replied with a brief but intriguing message: "We will be in touch..."
The response immediately fuelled speculation among fans that FIFA may collaborate with the streamer in some capacity during the tournament.

On Instagram, the teaser generated more than 40 million views and millions of interactions, with many users describing the song as a "banger" and predicting it could become one of the unofficial soundtracks of the tournament.

Not Speed's first World Cup song
This is not the first time IShowSpeed has ventured into football music. In 2022, he released the song World Cup during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, a track that also became hugely popular among football fans and remains one of his most recognised musical releases.
With "World Cup (Champions)" rapidly gaining traction worldwide, the internet star has once again found himself at the centre of football culture, proving his influence extends far beyond streaming and social media.
