Lionel Messi G.O.A.T. India Tour: Here is the list of traffic diversions in Mumbai for December 14

Mumbai Police has announced traffic diversions as football fans in the city gear up to witness World Cup winner Lionel Messi, scheduled to visit Mumbai on December 14.

Lionel Messi will be visiting the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at around 5 pm on Sunday, December 14, for the Mumbai leg of the G.O.A.T. Tour. Traffic in the financial capital of India will be majorly diverted for the arrival of Messi, Luis Suarez, and Rodrigo De Paul.

Timings of diversion in Mumbai

According to the Free Press Journal, the traffic diversions will be effective from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM on December 14. The ‘D’ Road will be one way (from west to east) for the traffic from its junction at N.S. Road (Marine Drive) and towards the junction of ‘E’ and ‘C’ Roads. The 'E' Road shall be one-way (southbound) for all types of vehicular traffic from the junction of ‘D’ Road towards its junction with ‘C’ Road.

Parking restrictions and road closures

The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Road (northbound) will be closed from Air India Junction to Mafatlal Junction for all vehicles as required. The alternate routes consist of Ramnath Poddar Chowk, Maharshi Karve Road, Charni Road, and other connected roads. The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Road (southbound) will be closed from the Princess Street Bridge to Air India Junction. The Coastal Road (southbound) will be closed from Worli and Tardeo to Marine Drive for all vehicles. The Coastal Road (northbound) will be closed from Marine Drive to Worli, Tardeo, for all vehicles.

Pay and park are available on these roads

There are very limited parking spaces which will be available near the Wankhede Stadium area. The H. T. Parekh Marg has a capacity of 60 vehicles. The Jivan Bima Marg can hold 15 vehicles. The K. Dubhash Marg has a capacity of 50 vehicles. The Hornimal Circle can accommodate 150 vehicles. The Dorabaji Tata Road has a capacity of 290 vehicles. The Vinay K. Shah Marg & Ramnath Goinka Marg can house 142 vehicles. The N.C.P.A. Marg has a capacity of 103 vehicles. The Jamanalal Bajaj Marg can hold 169 vehicles. The Vidhan Bhavan (MMRDA) can park 250 vehicles. The Vidhan Bhavan Marg has a capacity of 39 vehicles.

Messi’s Mumbai visit will begin with his participation with Bollywood personalities such as John Abraham, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Jackie Shroff at the Wankhede Stadium. Messi will conduct an exclusive coaching clinic for selected young footballers, followed by interactive penalty shootouts, a masterclass, and a musical concert celebrating his legacy.
