Benjamin Sesko has admitted he is disappointed to see Casemiro set to leave Manchester United this summer but believes the experienced midfielder still has a major role to play in the closing stages of the season. The Brazilian recently scored his eighth goal of the campaign in a key win over Brentford, keeping United firmly in contention for a top finish.

Veteran presence still vital

According to the BBC, Sesko described Casemiro as a “working machine”, highlighting the midfielder’s relentless energy and influence on the pitch. Despite being 34, the former Real Madrid star continues to deliver in high-pressure moments, something Sesko believes is invaluable for the squad.

He stressed that players can learn a lot from Casemiro’s work ethic and commitment, suggesting his impact goes beyond just performances and extends into the dressing room culture as well.

No turning back on exit decision

United head coach Michael Carrick has reportedly ruled out any possibility of Casemiro extending his stay, despite calls from fans for him to remain another year. While Sesko acknowledged this reality, he admitted it was unfortunate to lose such an influential figure.

Since arriving at Old Trafford in 2022, Casemiro has made over 150 appearances and scored more than 25 goals, establishing himself as a key figure during a transitional phase for the club.
