India’s boxing star Lovlina Borgohain once again proved her form by winning the Women’s 75 kg title at the Boxam Elite International tournament on February 7.
The Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist looked calm and confident in the final, where she defeated England’s Mary-Kate Smith by a 4:1 split decision, as India Today reported.
The contest was tight, but Lovlina’s sharp punches, better ring control and old big-match experience helped her take charge in key moments. The win adds another important title to her career and is expected to boost her confidence ahead of upcoming international competitions.
