Simone Biles sparks concern after revealing she 'almost died'

Simone Biles shared a photo from hospital and described the incident as one of the scariest experiences of her life.

Olympic gymnastics icon Simone Biles has opened up about her recent hospitalization following a frightening health emergency. The 29-year-old American star shared the unpleasant experience through Instagram on June 6, revealing that the scare nearly cost her life.

On Saturday, she posted a photograph of her wrist wearing more than one hospital bracelets on her Instagram Stories saying, "I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age. Almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.”

What happened to Simone Biles?

Referring to the incident as the most frightening experience of her life, Biles opened up on her Instagram story, stating, “This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life,” because her husband was away training with his team in Indianapolis, NFL preseason practice for the Colts.

Biles was resting in bed at home throughout the week after being released from the hospital. Biles thanked her friends and family for the flowers and visits made while she recovered. Moreover, Biles expressed that she would like to tell more later but would keep silent now.

In the meantime, while recovering, she has been posting pictures on Instagram, such as bouquets and a picture of herself in bed surrounded by her dogs. She only commented: “I’ll be here.”

How does Simone Biles live her private life?

Two days before sharing her health scare, Biles gave her 11 million Instagram followers a glimpse into her custom-built Texas estate, showing her bedroom and outdoor kitchen as she followed her doctor’s orders to rest and unwind.

She captioned a photo of breakfast in bed — a plate of eggs, toast, and sausage — with the words: “Breakfast in bed. Just what the doctor ordered.”

Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, live in Spring, Texas, a Houston suburb where she grew up. Owens previously played for the Houston Texans (2019–2022) before joining the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.
