KTM has significantly increased prices of its popular 390 range, including the KTM 390 Duke and KTM 390 Adventure X, by up to Rs 40,000. The revision comes after Bajaj Auto decided to stop absorbing the higher GST applicable to motorcycles above 350cc.
390 Duke sees biggest jump
The 390 Duke has taken the steepest hit, with its ex-showroom price in Delhi now at Rs 3.39 lakh, up from Rs 2.99 lakh. The Rs 40,000 increase reflects the full impact of the 40 per cent GST slab, which Bajaj had been cushioning since September last year. With that buffer removed, the cost has now been directly passed on to customers.
Adventure X also gets costlier
The 390 Adventure X has also become pricier, now retailing at Rs 3.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), marking a Rs 17,000 hike. However, since its launch price of Rs 2.91 lakh, the bike has seen a cumulative increase of nearly Rs 52,000 due to feature upgrades and tax-related changes. In several cities, this pushes its on-road price close to Rs 4 lakh.
GST shift drives pricing strategy
The price hike is largely driven by the higher GST rate on motorcycles above 350cc. With Bajaj Auto no longer offsetting this cost, KTM has realigned its pricing. This move also appears strategic, as the company is preparing to introduce new models with engines below 350cc, which attract a lower 18 per cent GST rate.

Smaller engine KTMs in the pipeline
Reports suggest KTM is working on downsized versions of its current 399cc engine to fit under the 350cc threshold. These upcoming models could be sold alongside the existing 390 range initially, offering buyers more affordable options. Over time, the success of these sub-350cc motorcycles may influence the future of KTM’s current 390 lineup in India.

More price revisions likely
There is no official word yet on price changes for other models like the RC 390 or 390 Enduro. However, similar revisions are widely expected as the brand aligns its entire portfolio with the revised tax structure.
