Volvo Cars has launched the EX30 Cargo in the UK, marking its entry into the car-derived electric van segment. Based on the EX30 compact electric SUV, the new model is designed specifically for fleet and business customers seeking a compact yet capable commercial vehicle.

EX30 transformed into practical electric cargo vehicle

The EX30 Cargo is available in two versions, the standard Cargo and the Cross Country Cargo, both offering enhanced practicality while retaining Volvo’s signature comfort, safety and technology. To create cargo space, the rear seats have been removed and replaced with a flat load floor, resulting in a 1,000-litre storage capacity and a payload of up to 390 kg. A bulkhead separates the cabin from the cargo area, while redesigned rear panels and doors improve overall usability.

Built for business with added utility features

The vehicle includes several features tailored for commercial use. These include wider-opening rear doors for easier loading, an integrated cargo work light and additional securing points in the underfloor structure. Volvo has ensured that the converted model maintains its safety credentials, stating that the EX30 Cargo meets its strict safety standards even after modification. The conversion is carried out through a second-stage process and is available for both new orders and existing stock across 2026 and 2027 model years. The EX30 Cargo will be sold exclusively through Volvo’s fleet sales channels, with prices starting at £36,010. It will be offered in core and trims, with the Cross Country variant available in the plus specification.

This will sit alongside more powerful options, including the P5 version and the P8 all-wheel-drive system, which delivers significantly higher output.
