On Tuesday, Cloudflare faced a major outage on Tuesday, disrupting access to several popular platforms and services across the globe.
As per Downdetector, multiple platforms, including OpenAI, Perplexity, ChatGPT, X and Google’s Gemini, are down. Thousands of users reported sudden 500 errors while trying to load websites that are dependent on Cloudflare’s network.
Cloudflare said in a post on its status page. “Cloudflare is aware of and investigating an issue that impacts multiple customers. Widespread 500 errors, Cloudflare Dashboard and API also failing. We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem. More updates to follow shortly.”
The company now updates saying that it is ‘seeing services recover’, but users could continue to observe ‘higher-than-normal error rates’ as it continues the remediation efforts.

Thousands of users have confirmed not being able to access X (formerly Twitter) owing to a technical glitch. Users are being met with a something went wrong screen and a blank feed or a bad getaway screen.
Meanwhile, the outage tracking website Downdetector says the websites are working fine for now; some users say that the platform itself witnessed an outage due to the Cloudflare issue. Netizens say that they were met with an internal server error on Cloudflare’s network while trying to access the platform.
On the other hand, OpenAI has confirmed on its website that ChatGPT and some of its other platforms are down, and it is investigating the issue; the pages will be available soon.
