A court employee died by suicide on Friday after jumping from a building inside Delhi’s Saket District Court complex. The incident took place when the employee leapt from the top floor of the court premises. Police said a suicide note was recovered from the spot.
According to police and media sources, the deceased has been identified as Harish Singh Mahar, a specially-abled court employee. He was reportedly 60 per cent disabled. Preliminary investigation suggests that work-related stress may have led to the extreme step.

Details from the suicide note indicate that Mahar was struggling to cope with work pressure. In the note, he wrote that he had not shared his suicidal thoughts with anyone, believing he would be able to overcome them on his own, but ultimately failed to do so. He mentioned that his disability made the job extremely difficult for him and that he was unable to manage the workload.
The note also revealed that Mahar had considered quitting his job but could not make the decision due to uncertainty about his future. He appealed to the court authorities, requesting that lighter duties be assigned to specially-abled employees in the future. Police said that he did not hold anyone responsible for his death.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
