And once again, MrBeast has become the holder of a new record, breaking the barrier of 500 million subscribers and being the first content creator to receive such an achievement in the history of YouTube.
This record became possible on June 12, putting Jimmy Donaldson significantly above all other creators in terms of numbers and establishing his position among the most popular influencers in digital media.
In order to celebrate this record-breaking accomplishment, Neal Mohan, the CEO of YouTube, gave a specially designed 500 Million Play Button to Donaldson.

Custom award for an outstanding achievement
As it turns out, this custom-made trophy is more exclusive than any other YouTube award as, currently, there is no Play Button that could go over the 100 Million Subscriber Red Diamond Play Button. However, the custom-made trophy consists of a silver diamond structure featuring the Beast logo of MrBeast with blue crystals and some red colors according to Donaldson's branding.
Commenting on this event, Neal Mohan congratulated MrBeast and called it a symbol of what creators can achieve on YouTube.
The award was unveiled during MrBeast's latest video, 50 YouTube Legends Fight for $1,000,000, one of the creator's biggest collaborative productions to date.
From bedroom videos to global dominance
Following the presentation, Donaldson returned to a recreation of his childhood bedroom in the video, reflecting on his journey from uploading videos to a handful of viewers to building the largest subscriber base on YouTube.
The achievement comes roughly a year after he crossed the 400 million subscriber mark in June 2025, a milestone that was also recognised with a custom creator award.
His rapid growth has been driven by large-scale challenge videos, high-budget productions, philanthropy-focused projects and international expansion strategies that have helped him build audiences across multiple languages and regions.
More than a content creator
Beyond entertainment, MrBeast has built a reputation for large-scale philanthropic initiatives. Through projects such as Beast Philanthropy and Team Trees, he has funded food distribution programmes, environmental campaigns and community development projects in several countries.
His videos often combine entertainment with charitable efforts, a model that has helped distinguish his brand from traditional online content formats.

A new benchmark for creators
The 500 million subscriber milestone highlights the growing influence of independent creators in the global entertainment landscape.
What began as a platform for user-generated videos has evolved into a space where creators can build audiences larger than many television networks and media brands.
For YouTube, the achievement also reflects the scale that creator-led content has reached over the past decade. With no other individual creator currently close to the 500 million mark, MrBeast's latest record establishes a new benchmark for the platform's creator economy.
