Lately, there has been a lot of discussion around boundaries and privacy in corporate culture and a recent Reddit post has added fuel to this debate.

The post
The post was shared on Reddit with a WhataApp screenshot of the conversation, "Is asking for live location okay?"
In the post, the employee wrote, "I had taken leave yesterday because of an acute headache. This morning, I asked my boss for another day off as I was still unwell."
The employee said that the manager first asked him to speak to the Human Resources department who in turn asked for "documents to be submitted by the end of the day" in support of the leave request. When the employee raised this matter to his boss, the situation escalated with the boss asking to "share live location".
On questioning the need for live location, the boss replied, "It is required as instruction received from HR."
Post goes viral
This unusual demand shook the Internet. People on social media called this an "absolute creep behavior" and "not okay".
A user commented, "They think you’re partying, if you’re partying deny the request, if you’re not partying tell them that you have signed up for work and not slavery and your location is not a matter of concern and sharing it only to create record of their approach for later use."

"What's a valid document for headache? Tht itself is an enigma for me. If I feel sick and decide to sleep in, should I send pics of me suffering to get leaves?" said another.
One user said that the company had hired them for work and location was none of their business. "Absolutely not, do not share your location. They hired you for work and your location is none of their business," the user stated.
