Singer Kailash Kher was forced to stop his concert midway in Gwalior after a section of the audience broke through barricades and rushed towards the stage, creating a chaotic situation that security personnel failed to control.

The concert was organised to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and was attended by a large crowd. A handful of people started jumping over the barriers dividing the stage from the audience area when Kher was performing some of his popular songs. Videos taken at the event show fans storming the stage and getting extremely close to the performers and technical staff.

Kailash Kher stopped his performance and spoke directly to the audience as the situation turned worse. The artist is heard urging people to act appropriately and uphold order in one video clip. “Humne aapki prashansa ki aur aap itna janwargiri kar rahe hain. Janwargiri mat kariye, please” (I have praised you and you are behaving like animals. Please don’t display such animal-like behaviour.), he said, warning that the show could not continue under such circumstances.

In another clip, Kher is seen asking the audience to step away from the stage and musical instruments, making it clear that he would leave immediately if the safety of his team was at risk. Despite repeated appeals, the crowd reportedly remained unruly, with security staff struggling to regain control.

According to reports, the singer requested organisers and on-ground security to intervene and clear the area near the stage. However, when the situation failed to improve, Kher decided to end the performance ahead of schedule and left the venue.

Before the interruption, Kher sang some of his well-known songs, including Teri Deewani, Saiyyan, and Piya Ghar Aavenge, to a tremendous applause. The abrupt end of the show left many attendees extremely disappointed. The incident prompted concerns about crowd management and safety protocols at such big public gatherings.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had spoken to a crowd at the same location earlier in the day. There were no reports of injuries following the incident. Event organisers have not issued an official statement regarding the security lapse.
