In the corporate world, deadlines seem to be everything. Life and death depend on them. Whatever happens, work must be completed on time. The allegation is that corporate culture is just like this. Even when sick, there's no relief. An employee has made such an allegation in a Reddit post. This has sparked a debate. He wrote, 'I said I couldn't breathe. But the boss said, there's a deadline.'
The employee was working in the office despite being ill. He was supposed to go to the doctor. About five minutes before his shift ended, a colleague informed him that he couldn't leave without finishing the work. Because there's a deadline. Such is the employee's allegation. In the Reddit post, he wrote, 'After hearing my colleague's words, I clearly told him I couldn't do it. I have to go to the doctor. But the colleague, not wanting to take any risk, asked me to inform the boss about the matter.'

Reluctantly, the employee openly told his boss about his illness. He informed that he must go to the doctor. But hearing the boss's response left him stunned. The employee wrote, 'The boss said, we have a deadline. The work must be finished within that time. Take a little rest. Come early tomorrow morning and finish the work.' After this, he wrote in a tone of regret, 'Sometimes I feel that bosses don't understand that we are also human beings.'
However, not all corporate office bosses are like this. Many do consider the convenience and inconvenience of employees. According to that employee, they are fortunate. He wrote, 'Those bosses who consider employees as human beings are truly fortunate. I wish my boss was also like that.'
This Reddit post spread like wildfire on social media. Many have stood by the employee. Criticizing the deadline mentality, they wrote, 'Health comes first. What's the use of getting a higher salary if you don't have health to enjoy money and wealth?' Some have also advised working at one's own pace, writing, 'Work at your own pace, in your own way. Take care of your health.'
