A street-side exchange in Nepal has caught attention online after a local man named Raju Lamichhane was seen confronting two Indian visitors for spitting on the road. In the Instagram video, the man is seen approaching the two individuals and points out the act, urging them not to dirty public spaces.

In the Instagram video, he is heard asking them to pour water on the spot where they spat, saying, "Ye Nepal hai aur ganda mat karna, pani dalo udhar." One of the men responds with a 'sorry', but Lamichhane continues, making it clear that saying sorry is not enough and reminds them to be mindful before making any further mistakes.

"Aap log itne bade desh se aate ho, phir aise ganda karte ho. "Sorry bolne se pehle sochna chahiye tha na," says Lamichhane in the viral clip. He further insists that they pour water and clean the spot immediately where they had spat. He says, "Ek bottle pani dalo udhar."

Instagram users reacted strongly to the video, with many supporting the man for speaking up on cleanliness. Even users also criticised the two individuals for spitting on the public road, calling the behaviour disrespectful and unhygienic.

One of the Instagram users wrote, criticising the two men, "Mujhe sharm aati hai ab apne ko Indian kehne mein." "Respecting a country costs nothing. Disrespect only shows your mindset, not Nepal's values." Another user commented, "He is my friend, and he was already apologising. Turning on the camera and recording him like this was wrong.”
The clip went viral on April 7, 2026, after it surfaced online, and since then, it has gained 3.6 million views and more than 1.7 million likes.
