India’s love for big-fat weddings continues and after the Ambani celebrations earlier this year, another extravagant event has grabbed national attention. The wedding of Netra Mantena, who is the daughter of NRI pharma entrepreneur Rama Raju Mantena, in Udaipur has taken over the internet with photos and videos dominating social media feeds.
Bollywood celebrities, international performers, and prominent guests attended the extravagant three-day wedding events, which took place at the Leela Palace and Jagmandir Island Palace. The wedding has rapidly emerged as one of 2025's most talked-about events.

The US-based pharma tycoon behind the viral Udaipur wedding
Rama Raju Mantena is a prominent figure in the US pharmaceutical industry. He is the Chairman and CEO of Ingenus Pharmaceuticals which is a company with operations in the US, Switzerland and India. Known for building multiple successful ventures, Mantena has a dual background in computer science and clinical pharmacy.
Originally from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, Mantena moved to the US in the 1980s. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from JNTU before studying clinical pharmacy at the University of Maryland.
Over the years, he has led companies such as P4 Healthcare, and founded ICORE Healthcare, International Oncology Network (ION), and OncoScripts, all focused on strengthening speciality and oncology care systems.
While some reports label him as a billionaire, publicly available data estimate that his net worth at around USD 20 million (approx. ₹167 crore). In 2023, he reportedly purchased a luxury Florida estate worth nearly ₹400 crore that includes 16 bedrooms and a private beach.
Mantena is also known for philanthropy. In 2017, he donated a 28-kg garland made of 1,008 gold coins to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams temple. He is married to Padmaja Mantena.

The wedding itself was a star-studded affair featuring international performers like Jennifer Lopez and Justin Bieber, with appearances by Donald Trump Jr., Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, and other top names from business and entertainment.
From a vibrant haldi ceremony to a high-energy sangeet night with performances by Madhuri Dixit and Nora Fatehi, the celebration has already been dubbed one of the most luxurious weddings of the year.
