BJP MP Rahul Sinha alleged that the attack was “pre-planned” and claimed that senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was the actual target. According to him, the assailants ended up opening fire on Adhikari’s close aide and driver, leading to the aide’s death. The BJP leader accused the Trinamool Congress of being behind the incident, calling it an act of “political terror.” He claimed the attack was carried out by “hired goons” driven by “revenge” after the party’s political setbacks in Bengal and Bhabanipur. Sinha further alleged that such an attack “could not have taken place without the involvement of the Trinamool high command.” He said police and other investigating agencies are probing the matter and demanded strict punishment for those found guilty, regardless of their identity.
