Howrah–Kolkata train services hit after freight train derailment in Bihar

Train services from Howrah and Kolkata have been rescheduled, diverted and cancelled after a cement-laden freight train derailed near Shimultala station in Bihar on the Howrah–Patna–Delhi main line.

Due to a freight train derailment in Bihar, several trains departing from Howrah and Kolkata stations are being rescheduled and diverted. One train has also been cancelled.

Trains rescheduled today—

1. 12023 UP Howrah-Patna Janshatabdi Express. Though scheduled to depart at 2:05 PM on December 29, this train will depart at 8 PM.

2. 13019 UP Howrah-Kathgodam Bagh Express was scheduled to depart at 9:45 PM but will now depart at 1 AM.

Cancelled train

63157/63158 Jasidih-Baidyanathdham-Jasidih MEMU has been cancelled today.

Train running via diverted route

13137 Kolkata-Azamgarh Express will run via Asansol-Pradhan Khunta-Dhanbad-Gaya-Kiul for today. The train will stop at Dhanbad and Gaya.

Late Saturday night, several coaches of a cement-laden freight train derailed while entering the station. This accident occurred near Shimultala station on the Howrah-Patna-Delhi main line. This schedule change is due to that incident, according to reports.
