For many families navigating developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders and other neurological conditions in children, timely intervention can make a crucial difference. Addressing this need, Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre in New Town has opened a dedicated Child Development Centre (CDC) offering multidisciplinary care and support.
The centre has been introduced as part of the hospital's paediatric multispecialty expansion and is expected to cater to children from infancy through adolescence. According to the hospital, the initiative responds to the growing need for integrated developmental care, particularly in eastern India, where access to multidisciplinary services remains limited outside major urban centres.

“Child development requires an approach that goes beyond episodic treatment to long-term, coordinated care. Through the Child Development Centre, we at Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre, Newtown, are building a model that brings clinical expertise, therapy, rehabilitation, and family engagement together to support children across every stage of development,” said Parthiv Neotia, Joint Managing Director of Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited.

The Child Development Centre brings together specialists from various disciplines, including paediatrics, neurology, psychology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and special education. The idea is to provide coordinated care for children facing developmental delays, neurological conditions, behavioural challenges and learning difficulties.
Services offered at the centre include developmental screening, advanced diagnostics, therapeutic interventions, neurorehabilitation and family support programmes. Caregiver counselling, training and long-term developmental planning also form part of the support system.
Hospital officials said the centre has been designed as a sensory-friendly environment to make assessments and therapies more comfortable for children.

Emphasis on long-term developmental support
Healthcare experts have repeatedly highlighted the importance of early identification and intervention in improving outcomes for children with developmental challenges. The newly launched centre seeks to address this need through a continuum-of-care model that supports children and families over an extended period rather than through isolated treatments.
The hospital said the centre aims to strengthen awareness, improve access to specialised paediatric developmental services and contribute to better developmental outcomes for children across the region.
