Apart from maintaining law and order, Kolkata Police has also been actively involved in various social initiatives. The launch of the Pronam Smart Card is another step in that direction.
The card has been introduced specifically for members of the Pronam programme. With this smart card, senior citizens will be able to receive priority treatment at certain private hospitals. Members will also get priority access and discounts when purchasing medicines from select pharmacy chains.
In addition, the card will offer benefits for several medical services, including blood tests and other health check-ups. The launch event was attended by West Bengal’s Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Shashi Panja, who praised Kolkata Police for taking this initiative to support senior citizens in the city.
