A new complaint of assault on a woman has come up once again in Kolkata. It has been learnt that a young woman was forcibly pushed inside a running car and molested. The incident took place late on Friday night in the Pragati Maidan police station area. She has already complained. As per the latest information, no arrests have been made so far.

According to police sources, during a night patrol, officers found the woman standing near the Maidan area and crying. The police asked her why she was out so late and what had happened. She then told them that she had been molested inside a car. In the course of her statement, she said she was standing near the Bypass when a car stopped beside her. The car had three men in it. She was allegedly dragged into the vehicle; soon after, the car sped off. She alleged she was assaulted inside the car and also injured.
The accused then dropped her near the Maidan and fled. The woman has filed a complaint at the Pragati Maidan police station. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident. Preliminary inquiry suggests that one of the three accused was known to her earlier. CCTV footage of the area is being examined as part of the investigation.
