Though it may not have the aristocratic charm of Park Street or Bandel Church, North Pointi Church in Bauria becomes one of the main attractions of rural Howrah every year during Christmas. The entire area becomes festive around this church located in the Bauria industrial area. Many people call it 'Mini Park Street' for this reason. There are many large factories in the Bauria region.
Due to this, people of various religions from different states of India live in this area. That is why Bauria is called 'Mini India'. According to local sources, many Christians live in this area. The area falls under ward number six of Uluberia municipality. The councillor here, David Rao, is himself a Christian.

This church was built in 2017 under the name North Pointi Community India beside the Domjur-Bauria Road in the East Burikhali area near Bauria station. Various social service activities are also carried out by the church. Different types of programs are organized there on the occasion of Christmas. During this time, thousands of people visit the church regardless of caste, religion, color, or political affiliation.
The organizers say that this year, on the occasion of Christmas, the story of Lord Jesus from birth to death and resurrection has been beautifully presented with the help of models at North Pointi Community India Church. Adjacent to the church, nearly two kilometers of Bauria's Benekali Road has been beautifully decorated with lights. Doddi Sudarshan Murti, president of North Pointi Community India, is a resident of Andhra.
His ancestors came to Bauria for work. However, Doddi Sudarshan Murti was born in the Bauria area. He was honored with the Commissioning Peace Award from an American organization in 2016 for social service. Murti says that this year, apart from the grand program on December 25, there will be various programs for three days until the last day of the year.

During these three days, alongside discussion circles, handicrafts, free health check-up camps, and food festivals have been organized. Cakes made by North Pointi Community India Church will be distributed to guests. North Pointi Community provides handicraft training throughout the year. Over the past few years, they have provided free treatment to about 23,000 patients. Sudarshan Murti says with regret that so many Christian people live in the Bauria area, yet there is no cemetery for last rites. Therefore, they have to go to Uluberia or Howrah.'
